The Sitero SAB’s expertise directly informs how Sitero approaches study design, data strategy, and the application of our eClinical platform across the drug development lifecycle. David Fineberg - Medical Director

DAVID FINEBERG, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer
Focus: Oncology, Hematology, Immunology, sepsis, Neurology, Clinical Development Strategy

Dr. David Fineberg is a physician executive with more than 20 years of experience in clinical development across sepsis, hematology, immunology, oncology, and neurology. He earned his medical degree from Tel Aviv University and completed surgical residencies at the Jacobs School of Medicine at the University at Buffalo and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, practicing as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon before transitioning into pharmaceutical development. He also holds a Global Executive MBA from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. Dr. Fineberg spent nearly 12 years at Grifols leading clinical development for plasmin-based therapies in acute peripheral arterial occlusion and acute ischemic stroke, establishing early expertise in neurological and vascular indications. At Asahi Kasei Pharma, where he served as Vice President of Clinical Development, he led the global Phase 3 SCARLET trial evaluating recombinant human thrombomodulin for septic shock with disseminated intravascular coagulation, one of the largest sepsis trials conducted in the past decade, and subsequently directed clinical programs in chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. His published work spans coagulopathy biomarkers, sepsis outcomes, and peripheral arterial intervention. Dr. Fineberg currently operates DF Clinical LLC, a consulting practice providing fractional CMO services to biotech and pharma companies in sepsis, immunology, and oncology, and serves as Medical Director at Sitero, where he provides clinical and scientific oversight across the organization.

ROBERT J. ISRAEL, MD

Focus: Oncology, Gastroenterology, Specialty Therapeutics, Clinical Development

Dr. Robert Israel is a physician executive with more than three decades of experience in clinical development, medical affairs, and regulatory strategy across oncology and specialty therapeutics. He received his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed advanced training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Israel held senior clinical and medical leadership roles at Progenics Pharmaceuticals across two tenures, where he led programs in oncology including PSMA-targeted antibody-drug conjugate development for castration-resistant prostate cancer, and in gastroenterology including the Phase 3 clinical development of methylnaltrexone for opioid-induced constipation. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Clinical and Medical Affairs at Bausch Health. His experience spans IND-enabling work through regulatory submission and commercialization, across multiple therapeutic areas and clinical modalities. He brings to Sitero’s Scientific Advisory Board a sponsor-grounded perspective on how complex, multi-phase clinical programs are designed, operationalized, and evaluated against regulatory decision points.

Dr. Ronald Januchowski is a board-certified Family Medicine physician, osteopathic educator, and clinical research governance leader with more than 30 years of experience spanning active clinical practice, graduate medical education, and institutional review board oversight. A graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed his Family Medicine residency at Womack Army Medical Center and served in the United States Army Reserves for more than two decades, including a deployment to Kosovo as a regimental physician. He has held academic leadership roles at the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine for more than a decade, including service as Associate Dean for Curriculum, Assessment and Medical Education, and currently serves as Campus Dean at VCOM’s Virginia campus. His research governance experience includes more than seven years as Chair of the Institutional Review Board at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center; he now serves as Chair of the Sitero IRB, overseeing protocol review and human subjects protection across a range of clinical investigations. He is also Editor-in-Chief of Osteopathic Family Physician and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. Dr. Januchowski brings to Sitero’s Scientific Advisory Board a practitioner-grounded perspective on the ethical conduct of clinical research and the responsibilities of clinical oversight across investigator sites.
